I had a short drive to my Dad’s for a regular visit. The drive takes about 20 minutes. It was late November, so it gets dark fairly early. As I was driving along, I could see the skies behind me to the west were turning a lovely colour for a pinky-red sunset. There was an unusual cloud formation under what had been a lovely sunny afternoon.
My drive took me along a river, and I noticed that the tide was a fair way in. I could see the skies reflecting on quite calm waters. Wacker Quay, a beauty spot along that stretch of the river, was on my route and so I decided to pull in to see if I could get a snap or two.
I wasn’t disappointed. There were already a few people there with their cameras or phones out. I had only my phone with me but still managed to get a few lovely pictures from the Quay.
Opportunities like this don’t often happen, so it makes my day when I manage to capture it, especially in such a lovely location.
There is a walkway from Wacker Quay to Antony in SE Cornwall, which is well worth an amble if you are in the area.
Read my article, Opportunity Props, which is about using lucky breaks like this lovely red sunset as a photographic props.
